WW - Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer, ref 5048, circa 1950, 32mm x 39mm to lug tips, 18mm lug width, original (heavily tarnished) 18K gold screw back Oyster case, brown leather strap, older refinished white dial which has aged yellow with applied gold indices, 18J, s#668752, triple signed, inside back ref 5048. Gross weight of assembled watch without strap 25.8 dwt (40.1 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide to rotor and steelwork, fine scratches on plates and rotor center; refinished dial with ample surface spotting and discoloration; fine-plus discolored gold dauphine hands; polished case shows very light wear, several light dings on back and lugs from being worn with an expandable bracelet; Rolex signed Oyster crown shows little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction.
